I don't think Sanders really has the presence to be a good head coach, he wasn't too impressive at Coeburn. I mean, the guy didn't say five words at practice, from what I've heard.

Don't you have to have Dawg blood to coach there?
Anyone who has played under Bobby Sanders knows hes a good coach, a good motivater, and a just an overall class act. He would be fine head coach.
Whenever Travis Turner is ready though he would be a good choice as well, Sanders and Turner would work good together.
The Saunders thing seems kinda odd to me, hes never really coached at a small school, and one as poorly funded as Appalachia.
I wouldn't hire Saunders to coach pit bulls. I've seen his crap first hand and that showed me all I needed to know. May know football no doubt, but people interaction gets a big ole fat F!!!!!!!!!!!
Bobby Sanders is qualified for the job, hes a [censored] fine guy. I would still do anything for that man to this day. I think hes the best to take over at Appy. I dont know which years exactly, but I know he was at Appy for a while in the early 90's and was part of 3 or 4 of their state titles. He didnt have anything to work with at Coeburn, and had to deal with all the parents. Its just my opinion and I know it dont matter to anybody else, but hes the winner.
"Why so serious?"
I have no problem at all with Bobby Sanders. He came to Coeburn with a bad taste in his mouth after getting shafted pretty good at Lee High. I think he would be a good fit for the job at Appy he has their system in his blood.

From what I was told by talking to Bobby this isn't much different from what Tom did at Appy. Bobby let his coaches do their jon and coach, he went from group to group and keep an eye on prgress he did step in from time to time and take over a drill or add to a drill, but for the most part he did what a head coach should do and that is let his assistants take care of practice and keep things going per his schedule that he made up and gave each a copy before practice.

IMHO Bobby Sanders will be the next Appy Head man. Is it possable that the chance to be the head coach at Appy is the very reason he desided to leave the Coburn job?
Sanders looks better in Appy blue.
I don't have a horse, or in this case a dawg in this race, but it seems to me like Travis should at least be given a chance.
